Born in southern Germany, Chris Heiny has been an active part of the country’s rock and pop music scene as a drummer and percussionist for more than 25 years.
After completing a classical music education, he attended seminars at the Future Music School in Aschaffenburg, as well as workshops and masterclasses with Gary Cheaffey, Will Calhoun, Udo Dahmen, Gregg Bisonette, Thomas Lang, René Kramer, Claus Hessler, and many others.
Chris Heiny has been living in Berlin as a freelance professional drummer since 2000.
Tours, live gigs, TV appearances, workshops, and band projects (including Mariannenplatz, Joachim Deutschland, and Bosse), as well as his five-year stint with the Blue Man Group, have taken him all over Europe.
