Jay Cobain (formerly known as Jamaál J. Smith) is a British artist, musician and drummer currently based in Berlin, Germany. Known for his energetic playing style, musical versatility and unique personality behind the kit, he gained recognition through his band L.I.F.T and through live performances with artists such as Peter Fox, German pop star Nico Santos, Yonaka, WSTRN and Krept & Konan.
With performances across the UK, Germany and the US, Jay has built a reputation as an exciting and highly adaptable drummer, comfortably moving between genres like Hip-Hop, RnB, Gospel, Grime and Pop-Punk. Alongside touring and session work, he is also focusing on his own solo music, with his debut project Pursuit set for release soon.
